Secretary ER H.E. Dammu Ravi met Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance & Planning, H.E. Emmanuel Tutuba on 6 October 2022 in Dar es Salaam. They held detailed discussions on a range of issues including news ways of economic engagement and capacity building.

 


Secretary ER H.E. Dammu Ravi reviewed entire gamut of India-Tanzania bilateral relations with Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, H.E. Amb. Joseph Sokoine. They expressed satisfaction over recent positive developments and agreed to work on new areas of economic engagement including an Indian SEZ & trade in Indian Rupees.

 

Secretary ER met Indian diaspora business leaders based in Tanzania in an event hosted by the High Commission. He spoke about Indian growth projections and possible role of diaspora members in enhancing India-Tanzania economic relations. High Commissioner Binaya Srikanta Pradhan & Chairman of Tanzania India Business Forum (TIBF) Mr. Gagan Gupta also spoke at the event.

Secretary ER called on President of Zanzibar H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi on 7 October 2022. He assured of India’s commitment to work together with Zanzibar. Issues of Indian water projects, capacity building programs, Indian investment in various sectors including Blue Economy were discussed.

 

Secretary (ER) also visited a project site under construction for supply of water to households of Zanzibar. Three Indian companies are presently implementing water supply projects in Zanzibar under Government of India Lines of Credit.
