SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME FOR DIASPORA CHILDREN (SPDC) 2024-25
Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India has announced Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for academic year 2024-25 for pursuing undergraduate courses in several disciplines (except medical and related courses) in India. The scheme is open to the following two categories of applicants.
(a) Children of PIOs/OCIs/NRIs who have studied outside India in any of the countries .
(b) Children of Indian workers in ECR countries (who have studied in India or abroad).
2. 150 scholarships are offered under the SPDC scheme. 100 are earmarked for the children of NRIs/PIOs/OCIs and 50 are earmarked for the children of Indian workers in the ECR countries subject to fulfilling all the eligibility criteria.
3. SPDC Scheme is open to the applicants in the age group of 17 to 21 years as on 31st July, 2024.
4. Total monthly income of the parent(s) of the candidate applying under ‘NRI/PIO/OCI category’ should not exceed US$5000. Total monthly income of parents of candidate applying under ‘children of Indian workers in ECR countries category’ should not exceed US$3000. The applicant’s parents have to provide salary certificate from the employer (self-attested).
5. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination (10+2) and secured admission in an undergraduate course in the designated institutions in India and fulfill other eligibility criteria can apply for scholarship under SPDC by filling the application form and submitting the form along with the supporting documents to edu.hcitz@gmail.com.
