March 2021


Medical workshop (17-20th March, 2021) for Tanzanian medical professionals at the Muhimbili National Hospital and the Aga Khan Hospital in Dar es Salaam. The workshop that covered various topics under Airway Management was conducted by Dr. (Ms.) Jyotsna Punj and Dr. Ravinder Kumar Pandey, Professors in the Department of Anesthesiology, Pain Medicine & Critical Care of AIIMS


(ii) A 3-weeks long Dance Theatre Workshop (15th March to 2nd April) at SVCC: The Mission organized a 3 weeks long dance theatre workshop for Tanzanian youth at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) in Dar es Salaam.

April 2021


(i)Antarashtriya Kavyapremi Munch of Tanzania organised ''Akhand kavyaayan'' from 8 am on 18th April 2021 to 8 am on 19th April 2021. The 24 hrs non stop program which was conducted virtually, saw participation by 157 poets from 15 different countries. The participants recited their poetry on great Indian poets and their literary works.

(ii)A Special Audio-Visual presentation on one of the greatest scientific achievements of India- 'Mangalyaan' was organised by Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Dar es Salaam on 25 April 2021. About 40 students participated in the event.

 

May 2021

 

(i)An online Certificate Course on "Mahatma Gandhi's Philosophy - Global Pursuit of Truth & Non Violence" was conducted by Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna, a Scholar of Gandhian Philosophy.

(ii)On the occasion of 160th birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore (7th May), Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Dar es Salaam streamed a documentary on "Rabindranath Tagore" by famous Indian filmmaker Shri Satyajit Ray.

(iii). Ladies of Indian origin living in Tanzania celebrated World Cultural Diversity Day (21 May 2021) by recording a video showcasing wonderful blend of Indian and African culture.

 

June 2021

 

A Yoga Quiz programme at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) in Dar es Salaam was organized on 20th June 2021. 13 teams participated in the event. Certificates and cash prizes were issued to the winners.


(ii) On occasion of 7th International Day of Yoga, 13 yoga programmes were organised across Tanzania in 8 different cities (Arusha, Dodoma, Iringa, Tanga, Mbeya, Lindi, Tabora and Morogoro) on 20th June 2021 and 27th June 2021, while in Dar es Salaam the programme was organised in virtual mode on 20th June 2021.

(iii) Indian School, Dar es Salaam celebrated International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2021 at school premises. Students and teachers demonstrated Common Yoga Protocol under the guidance of Yoga teacher Dr. Sarala Kotian.

(iv) SVCC Dar es Salaam recorded exclusive videos of 4 Tanzanian actors on their experience on Yoga and circulated the videos through its social media account.

(v)SVCC and Samarpan Meditation Tanzania organised a Workshop for Students on 27th June 2021 to celebrate International Day of Yoga. 35 students participated in the workshop. The workshop included 30 min yoga of different Aasana's postures, understanding of Yoga and it's benefits in the daily routine life and deep meditation. Seema R. Kairwal, Latha Shetty, Sapna Bhattbhatt, Jai shri Trivedi, Pankaj Kumar, Sarla kotian (yoga teacher) and Savitha Maurya facilitated the students in the workshop.
