July 2021


(i)Africa Kabaddi Championship 2021 supported by HCI Dar es Salaam was organised from 30th June to 4th July in Dar es Salaam. Due to covid restrictions only three countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Egypt) were able to participate in the event. In the men’s Kabbadi Final Egypt won against Tanzania on 4th July 2021.


(ii)“Ek Kadam Hindi Ki Or”, a competition programme in Hindi language in different categories– extempore, debate & speech was organised by Hindi Hai Hum, Antarrashtriya Hindi Sahitya Manch in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Dar es Salaam on 7th July for students of age 5-19 years. Sri R. Chandramouli, Counsellor&HOC awarded prizes and certificates to the winners.


(iii)SVCC Dar es Salaam and Rashtriya Kavi Sangam organised Antarashtriya Kavi Sammelan on 10 July 
on virtual platform. Hindi poets from Kenya, Tanzania, Nigeria, Uganda, Ireland and India participated in the event

 

(iv)A unique concert with combination of Maths and Music titled “The Mavericks of Chaos” was organised by SVCC Dar es Salaam on 24 July 2021. Maestro (Ustad) Afraaz Adam Mulji presented the mathematical legacy and genius of the worlds most gifted and profound mathematical phenomenon Srinivas Ramanujan through profound musical explorations and dialogues.


(v) SVCC Dar es Salaam sponsored an Indian classical dance troupe, Shivanjali Natyalaya (India) at the International Dance Festival organised in Dar es Salaam from 30-31 July.

August 2021


(i) Elocution Contest on the Topic 'India of My Dreams'. The participants shared their thoughts on the subject of the contest in a video of length two to three minutes.

(ii)On the eve of India’s 75th Independence Day, Mission produced a special video of Tanzanian students learning Hindi at SVCC singing India’s National Anthem.


(iii)As part of Independence Day celebration, an online Cultural program was organized in association with ‘Incredible Naari’, an NGO run by NRIs in Tanzania. Participants performed group dance, solo dance and sang patriotic songs.


(iv)Flag hoisting ceremony organized on Independence Day at High Commission of India.

September 2021

(i)Mission celebrated ITEC Day on 15 September 2021 at High Commission of India. Tanzanian Minister of Education, Prof. Joyce Ndalichako was the Chief Guest. Waka Waka traditional dance group of Tanzania and Indian traditional dance troupe Shivanjali Natyalaya performed at the event.


(ii) Hindi Diwas was organized in association with Swarnaganga & Hindi Hai Hum on 19 September 2021. Tanzanian students learning Hindi at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC) and students of Noopur school of Dance performed dance and skits at the event.


October 2021

(i)Gandhi Jayanti was celebrated at University of Dar es Salaam on 2nd Oct. 2021


A Blood Donation Camp was organised in association with Hitech Sai Healthcare Centre, Dar es Salaam on 2nd October 2021


(iii)ICCR sponsored Baba Gorekhnath Gotipua Dance troupe from India performed at 40th Bagamoyo International Festival on 28th October 2021. The event was inaugurated by Tanzanian Minister for Culture, Arts and Sports H.E. Innocent Bashungwa.


(iv)Rising star - Children Art Exhibition from 29 to 31 October 2021 was organised at Museum and House of Culture in association with Museum Art Explosion. The event was inaugurated by High Commissioner of India to Tanzania H.E. Binaya Srikanta Pradhan.


(v)A cultural programme was organised at National Museum, Dar es Salaam on 29 November 2021 to celebrate AKAM and 60 years of India - Tanzania Diplomatic Relations. Minister for Foreign Affairs & East African Cooperation of United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Amb. Liberata Mulamula was the Chief Guest. Baba Gorekhnath Gotipua Dance troupe and Jambo Vijambo Theatre Group gave performances at the event.


(vi) Mission celebrated Diwali on 30 October 2021. Distinguished guests from Indian diaspora were invited. Baba Gorekhnath Gotipua Dance troupe and Chikoo Bollywood Dance Group of Tanzania performed at the event.


(vii)An online event was organised on National Unity Day or Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, on 31st October to honour the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Pictorial film on Sardar Patel was streamed online on SVCC's Facebook page.
