Baba Gorekhnath Gotipua Dance Troupe from Odisha, India performed on the first day of the 40th Bagamoyo International Festival on 28th October at Tasuba College of Arts

The festival was inaugurated by Minister of Culture, H.E. Innocent Bashungwa by beating of the traditional drums.
As part of India@75 celebrations, Baba Gorekhnath Gotipua Dance troupe was sponsored by Government of India to perform at the prestigious Bagamoyo International festival in Tanzania.
The dance troupe mesmerized the audience with classical Odissi and traditional Gotipua dance form from the state of Odisha. Gotipua dance form historically represents the magnificence of the most glorious Vaisnava culture and is performed by young boys dressed as girls. The Gotipua style depict various stories from the great historical puranas of India as well as the Rasa leela of the Lord Krishna with the Gopis in Vrindavan.
