High Commission of India hosted a reception in the evening of 26th Jan 2022 at Hyatt Regency, Dar es Salaam to celebrate the 73rd Republic Day of India. Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Amb. Liberata Mulamula was the Chief Guest. Senior Tanzanian government officers, Ambassadors of diplomatic missions, businessmen and prominent members of Indian diaspora attended the event.

High Commissioner Binaya Srikanta Pradhan spoke about historic India-Tanzania relations; India's achievements in past 75 years and the new developments in trade relations between the two countries. He appreciated new reforms under the presidentship of H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan adding that the Indian business community was taking note of the positive reforms in the country.

Amb. Mulamula conveyed the greetings of the President H.E. Samia Suluhu Hassan to the Government and people of India on occasion of the Republic Day. She congratulated India for its achievements in past 75 years. She thanked India for assistance in water supply projects in different cities in Tanzania and also mentioned Indian assistance in capacity building programmes. She briefed the audience that India was one of the largest trade partner and third largest investor in Tanzania. She assured to take the partnership and friendship to newer heights.
