COAS paid obeisance to the Indian soldiers who laid down their lives during WWI in East Africa in line of duty for defending global peace & security. The solemn wreath laying ceremony was conducted at Common Wealth War memorial in Dar es Salaam. . .

COAS met Minister of Defence and National Service Dr. Stergomena Tax. He shared his views on the contemporary security environment & avenues of enhancing bilateral defence cooperation between India and Tanzania.

 



COAS had detailed deliberations on all spheres of defence cooperation including Joint exercises, training, defence exports and long term partnership with the Gen Jacob John Mkunda, Chief of Defence Forces, Tanzania Peoples Defence Forces and the three service chiefs of the TPDF. COAS gifted Infantry Weapon Trg Simulator and 100 Bullet Proof Jackets for TPDF.

 

COAS addressed the 12th NDC course and faculty of National Defence College Tanzania on the topic "current Security scenario and need for joint efforts through bilateral collaborations". He met Maj Gen Wilbert Augustine Ibunge, Commandant NDC and discussed wide canvas of defence engagements.

 

 

COAS called on H.E. Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, President of Zanzibar and briefed him on recent developments in defence and maritime cooperation.

 

 

COAS met Brigade Commander 101 Brigade Brig Gen SH Saidi stationed at Zanzibar.

 

 

COAS visited Command & Staff college Duluti. Discussions with Brig Gen. Stephen Mnkande, Commandant CSC Duluti focused on bolstering interoperability between Indian and Tanzanian Army.
Commandant highlighted the stellar efforts of IMTT in strengthening defence ties.
