Speaker of the National Assembly of the United Republic of Tanzania and the President of the International Parliamentary Union (IPU), H.E. Dr. Tulia Ackson was on official visit to India from 19-24 July 2024.

She met Speaker Lok Sabha, H.E. Om Birla on 23 July 2024.

She met External Affairs Minister of India, H.E. Dr. S Jaishankar. They exchanged views on development challenges of the Global South as well as reformed multilateralism.

The Speaker called on the President of India, H.E. Smt. Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The President expressed confidence that as the IPU President, Dr. Ackson will further strengthen understanding and dialogue among member countries, and use IPU as a platform to discuss issues of relevance to the Global South .

She also called on Vice-President and Chairman, Rajya Sabha, H.E. Jagdeep Dhankhar on 24 July 2024.
