High Commissioner Binaya Srikanta Pradhan visited Mbeya and Njombe regions in the south western part of Tanzania from 14-16 April 2023. During the visit, High Commission of India in association with Tanzania Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture organized a business meet in Mbeya on 14 April with the objective of creating more opportunities for linking Indian businesses with the two agri-rich regions. Over 60 prominent business leaders of the region attended.

 

 

He participated in an interactive get-together organized by the Indian diaspora in Mabeya on 14th April.

 

 

High Commissioner along with senior officials from Ministry of Water of Tanzania visited water intake site at Mbarali river for drinking water project to Rujewa town in Mbeya region, one of 24 towns to benefit from US$ 500 million Lines of Credit (LOC) extended by Government of India.

 

 

In Njombe, High Commissioner visited businesses owned by PIOs including AvoAfrica, the major exporter of Avocado to India.

 

 

He also visited Migiwi riverside, the source of water intake for water projects under LOC to Makambako, Wanging’ombe and Njombe; over 414000 people in 107 villages in the scenic Njombe region will benefit. Larsen and Toubro, India's premier infrastructure company is executing the project.
