High Commission of India in association with Ministry of Culture, Arts and Sports of Tanzania organized a two day ultramarathon "India-Tanzania Friendship run" on 30-31 December 2023. Bollywood actor and fitness icon Milind Soman, along with 4000 runners from both India and Tanzania participated. The run was flagged off by Minister of Constitutional & Legal Affairs H.E. Dr. Pindi Chana, High Commissioner Binaya S Pradhan and Milind Soman on 30 December at Kenyatta Drive, Dar es Salaam. Participants had the option to run for 5km, 10 km or full run of 120 km from Dar es Salaam to Bagamoyo and back.

Minister of Culture, Arts and Sports H.E. Dr. Damas Ndumbaro was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony on 31st December where he announced to host second India-Tanzania friendship run in July 2024 in the Kitulo National Park.
