A joint India-UAE delegation of the Healthcare sector visited Tanzania on 16-18 August 2022 to explore opportunities to invest in healthcare (setting up of hospital, diagnostic centre) in Tanzania. Prominent hospitals, Diagnostic Centres and Investors from India (Apollo Hospitals, Fortis, Medanta, NephroPlus, Dr Lal Path Labs, KEF Holdings, FICCI & Invest India) and UAE (G42 Healthcare, Tamouh/Somerian) and government representatives of both countries were part of the delegation. Mr. Lav Agarwal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare led the Indian delegation while the UAE delegation was headed by Mr. Abdul Wahed Abdul Hakim Al Jabri, Head of Control Department, Department of Foreign Aid Affairs, UAE.

The delegation together with High Commissioner of India, Mr. Binaya Srikanta Pradhan & Ambassador of UAE to Tanzania Mr. Khalifa AbdulRahman Al Marzouqi met Health Minister of Tanzania, H.E. Ummy Mwalimu on 17 August 2022 and held detailed discussions on health sector cooperation and investment opportunities in Tanzania.

The delegation also visited Tanzania Investment Centre and reputed hospitals in Dar es Salaam- Ocean Road Cancer Institute, Muhimbili National Hospital, Saifee Hospital, The Aga Khan Hospital, Hitech Sai hospital and discussed various possibilities of collaboration & investment potentials.

High Commission of India in association with the Embassy of UAE in Tanzania organized a business round table on 17 August 2022. Visiting companies made presentations and networked with Tanzanian hospitals, investors and other stakeholders.
