November 2021


(i)On 2 Nov. 2021, High Commission celebrated Ayurveda Day by planting of herbs and medicinal plants at SVCC campus. The event was organised in association with All world Gayatri Pariwar Tanzania.


(ii)High Commission and its cultural centre SVCC widely publicised Kashi Utsav by screening of documentaries related to Kashi on their respective social media handle


(iii)On 20th Nov. 2021, Art Competition for children on the theme 'Culture through Colours' was organised in association with Navya Mahila Sangh. More than 100 Children participated in the competition

 

(iv)Constitution Day was celebrated on 26 November 2021. India based staff of the High Commission led by High Commissioner Binaya Srikanta Pradhan joined the Hon'ble President of India for live reading of the Preamble to the Constitution of India.

December 2021


(i) A cultural event in association with Balakrishna foundation was organised on 4th December 2021 at SVCC Dar es Salaam. Classical dance group from India led by Soorya Krishnamoorthy performed Bharatnatyam, Kuchupudi, Kathak and contemporary dance at the event.

(ii)On the occasion of the Mahaparinirvan Diwas, SVCC screened 'Mookanaayak' -a documentary on Babasaheb Ambedkar for Tanzanian Children.

(iii)Students of Indian School, Dar es Salaam participated in the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav Postcard Campaign. They wrote a postcard to Hon'ble Prime Minister of India on topics "Unsung Heroes of Freedom Struggle" and " My Vision for India in 2047".

(iv)India Tanzania Fashion Show was organised in association with Agusta Fashions Tanzania at SVCC campus on 18 December 2021. Culture and clothing from different states of India were showcased. Members of Indian diaspora, Tanzanian designers and models enthusiastically participated in the event. Ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps were also invited to the event


January 2022

(i)A Rangoli competition was organised in association with HSS Tanzania to celebrate Makara Sankranti on 16 Jan 2022 at Shishukunj, Indo Tanzania Cultural Centre in Dar es Salaam.


(ii) National Youth Day (birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda) was celebrated at SVCC Dar es Salaam on 12th Jan. 2022. Tanzanian students learning Hindi at SVCC participated in the event.


(iii)Swachhata Pakhwada (Fortnight Cleanliness Drive) was organised from 1-15 January 2022. On 15th January 2022, High Commission of India in cooperation with Indian community cleaned India Street in Dar es Salaam. A large number of community members enthusiastically participated in the cleanliness drive initiated by the mission.


(iv)Sanskrit Learning App “Little Guru” was launched by Director (SVCC) on 16 January 2022 at Indo Tanzania Cultural Centre.


(v)A Cultural event was organized to celebrate World Hindi Day on 22 January 2022 at the High Commission of India. Participants from organization 'Swarnganga' performed Indian classic dances, Mr Fadhili Ali, a Tanzanian national entertained the audience with Bollywood songs and students learning Hindi at SVCC Dar es Salaam recited poems in Hindi.

(vi)A Blood Donation Camp was organised by High Commission of India in association with Saifee Hospital Tanzania to celebrate 75 years of Indian Independence (Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav) on 23rd January 2022. The event was inaugurated by High Commissioner Binaya Srikanta Pradhan.


(vii)73rd Republic Day of India was celebrated at High Commission of India, Dar es Salaam. 200 guests from Indian diaspora, members and leaders of different community participated. The event was also live streamed on High Commission's Facebook page. A special supplement on India highlighting India-Tanzania relations, India's development partnership programme, India's achievements and Amrit Mahotsav was brought out by prominent English Daily, The Guardian.


(viii)High Commission hosted a reception in the evening of 26th Jan. 2022 at Hyatt Regency in Dar es Salaam to celebrate 73rd Republic Day of India. Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation of United Republic of Tanzania, Amb. Liberata Mulamula was the Chief Guest. Senior Tanzanian government officers, Ambassadors of diplomatic missions, businessmen and prominent members of Indian diaspora attended the event.


(ix)On occasion of 74th Martyr's Day, virtual narration of 'Satyagraha - The pathway to Global Peace' by acclaimed Gandhian Speaker, Dr. Shobhana Radhakrishna was live steamed on High Commission and SVCC's Facebook page and you tube channel.


(x)Tanzanian students learning Hindi at Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre in Dar es Salaam observed Martyr's Day (30th Jan. 2022) in remembrance of Mahatma Gandhi.


(xi)A Slogan writing competition in Hindi on topic "Republic India" was organized for Students of Indian School in Dar es Salaam.

February 2022

(i) A cultural programme to pay tributes to Late Lata Mangeshkar was organized at Swami Vivekananda Culture Centre (SVCC) in Dar es Salaam on 12 February 2022. Local artists from Indian diaspora participated in the event.


(ii) High Commission of India in association with Indian Community organized a musical tribute to Bharat Ratna Late Lata Mangeshkar on 19th Feb. 2022. Renowned singer of Tanzania Bipin Raichada & other talents sang her songs which have inspired generations of Indians living around the world.
